What We Do

Independent Power Producer

We host 4 Independent Power Producer (IPP) Plants in Bogura, Rangpur, and Chattogram regions of Bangladesh, all of which produce Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) fired electricity. The plants hold engines sourced from both Rolls Royce (Norway) and MAN (Germany); which subsequently harvest a maximum of 113 MW of electricity from each plant, amounting to 393.36 MW in total. All of the equipment issued and utilized are EU board certified. The plants also follow strict precautionary measures for mechanical, electrical, and heat safety, along with integrated fire defense mechanisms and smoke detection systems.

Oil and Shipping

Equipped with a fully integrated fuel supply chain operation in Natakhola, the operation includes Furnace Oil import, inland carriage to deliver to our power plants ensuring uninterrupted service and maximizing efficiency.  Our storage depots in Chittagong & Natakhola, marine-class ship fleet, and inland transportation allow us to have greater control of fuel delivery from import to delivery to plants ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply. Moreover, our Natakhola fuel depot provides a critical linkage for our North Bengal power plants given it’s a land-locked region. These exemplary standards of supply chain management and logistics have allowed us to champion even the fuel supply disruptions due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. We are one of the few IPP’s in the country to have operated with no outages (forced shutdowns) throughout this time.

Renewable Energy

We have already started our journey towards a more sustainable future. Our transition to cleaner fuel has already begun with our 2 recent investment ventures: 660 MW Gas/RLNG project in Mirsari and Solaris, a rooftop solar ESCO. We envisage 70% of our anticipated total power generation portfolio of 2000+ MW by 2030 will come from cleaner energy.
